2 credits This is a field work course for specific sport coaching experiences. Students select the sport (sports) desired for qualification. The student will work closely with a highly qualified supervising coach as a student assistant in a selected secondary school setting. Depending on the school setting, the student will work daily either: for a whole junior high sport season, or seven consecutive weeks in a high school setting encompass ing at least 100 hours. Students must register for each sport in which qualification is desired. Those students registering for fall sport field work experiences must preregister and be interviewed the previous spring. Prerequisites: SMP 1033N, 1040A. Corequisite: SMP 2042N for first field work expe rience only. Offered: 2008 - 2010.
