3 credits Students will be introduced to basic intaglio techniques, beginning with drypoint and leading to the development of various skills associated with etching. The use of aquatint and softground, as well as mezzotint and engraving incorporated with etching will be explored. A sketchbook that includes sketches and notes on methods and techniques is required. Prerequisite: VIS 1009A or permission of the instructor. Offered: 2008 - 2010.
