3 credits By magnifying the woven structure of cloth, students will familiarize themselves with its basic structure, along with various characteristics of type. Students will learn basic dyeing techniques necessary to execute their textile designs on cotton or silk cloth. Students will combine the cre ative and the practical aspects of color and composition through studying basic color theory and elements of design. This is a comprehensive studio course covering the techniques of basic weaving, basic textile dyeing, color application and resist methods, and textile printing. Offered: As needed.
