3 credits This course examines the interactions of psychology and health, including the ways in which thought, emotions and behavior influence one's health. It will emphasize how psychological, social and biological factors determine the success people have in health maintenance, treat ment seeking, coping with stress and pain, and recovering from serious ill ness. This course is designed to give a broad overview of the field of health psychology in order to increase understanding of what it means to be a health psychologist and how health psychology affects each of us in our everyday lives.
