3 credits A second level course in American Sign Language designed to assist students in gaining additional linguistic competence both expressively and receptively. Students will also gain an understanding of the American Deaf Community and its culture. Students will use a conversational approach to learning ASL that challenges them to apply previously learned material while integrating new skills and cultural knowledge into level II coursework. Prerequisite: SPH 1111A. Offered: 2008 - 2010.
