3 credits This study of non-European art will present the contextual development of various cultures outside of the sphere of European influence. This course offers a formal study of the visual arts; painting, sculpture, architecture, functional crafts, textiles and collage from prehistoric Mesopotamia to 20th century Native America. Field research at museums to view original works of time honored non-European art and techniques is an integral component of this course. Offered: 2008 - 2010.
