3 credits Fundamentals and applications of learning theory. The traditional work of Thorndike, Pavlov, Kohler, Guthrie, Hull, Tolman, Skinner, Spence, Miller, etc, will be surveyed. The main focus of the course will be on con temporary views of the learning process, especially as they apply to human verbal learning, problem solving, instructional programs, and memory. Prerequisite: Six credits in Psychology or permission of the instructor. Offered: 2008 - 2010.
