3 credits This course is a continuation of MTH 3140A. It will cover numerical methods for approximating the solution of various types of mathematical problems that cannot be solved with analytical techniques learned in other classes which give the exact answer. This semester will feature methods for solving initial-value problems, linear systems, matrix algebra, non-linear systems of equations, boundary-value problems and partial differential equations. Prerequisites: A grade of C- or better in MTH 3140A, MTH 2103A and MTH 2121A. Offered: 2008 - 2010.
