3 credits This is a professional business-related course that will teach students the principles of labor-management mediation and how mediation tech niques can be applied in a variety of unionized workplace situations. Primary focus will be on the use of mediation principles and strategies as required to resolve a variety of workplace disputes between employees and employers. Topics of study will include contractual issues, collective bargaining, and harassment complaints. Students will also participate in simulated real-world mediations. Offered: 2008 - 2010.
