3 credits The purpose of this course is to have individuals develop and demonstrate newer instructional techniques and a deeper understanding of the creative arts and movement sciences in the educational of children. Emphasis is on the teacher's role as facilitator of learning the cognitive processes associated with non-formal learning through play and interaction in natural settings. This performance- based course also examines the integrated practices required for the development of pedagogical content knowledge for diverse learners in a variety of inclusive and informal settings. Prerequisites: EDU 3103N, EDU 3104N, EDU 3146N, and a minimum G.P.A. of 2.5. Corequisites: EDU 4113N, EDU 4114N and EDU 4149N. Offered: 2008 - 2010.
