3 credits This is a continuation of the topics covered in EDU 3146 - Literacy Acquisition I. It adds the opportunity for students to formulate a professional philosophy of language and learning, develop a knowledge of class room programs and language learning engagements appropriate for school age students, and to develop instructional strategies that con tribute to communication competence and performance. The New York State Learning Standards, introduced in Literacy Acquisition I, are reviewed and applied to the content of this course. Prerequisites for Elementary Education Majors: EDU 3103A, EDU 3104A, EDU 3146A, and a minimum G.P.A. of 2.5. Corequisites for Elementary Education Majors: EDU 4113N, EDU 4114N, EDU 4115N, and a field placement. Offered: 2008 - 2010.
