3 credits Aging is a process experienced by all humans, but the world's cultures vary greatly in how they conceive of age and aging, and in their treatment of the elderly. This course will teach the student about the wide variety of cultural perspectives on aging. By learning how other cultures deal with age, the student will have a greater understanding of the aging process itself, and will learn alternate models for more humane treatment of the elderly.
