A study of the most outstanding Latin American writers in Spanish, focusing mainly on the modern period. Upon completion of this course, the student will be familiar with literary periods and key authors from Latin American countries and Hispanic U.S., and will be able to read and discuss fiction, poetry, and drama in Spanish. Prerequisite: SPA 312 or 314, or permission. Offered alternate spring terms
