Examines the literature on the Vietnam War: what were its causes; how did America get involved; what were the U.S. decisionmaking processes involved. It does this in two fundamental ways. First, examines the history of Vietnam, its origins, its relations with its neighbors, etc. Second, examines literature concerning the causes of U.S. involvement; presumed "lessons" therefrom;and the actual decision-making processes. Prerequisite: PSCI 350. May not be taken for credit by students who received credit for PSCI 469A. (INP)
