Integration, application and evaluation of specific information regarding health education and health promotion theory, research, and practice, which is essential to the professional nursing role, and critical to improving the health of individuals and the population at large. Explores the effects of developmental, motivational, and sociocultural factors on patient teaching, health education, and health promotion. Corequisites: NURS 222 and 223 (generic nursing students) or NURS 350 and 351 (RNto- BSN students). Enrollment Requirement: NURS 220 and 221 (generic students only). Enrollment restricted to students admitted to RN-to-BSN nursing major. Enrollment restricted to students who have obtained consent of the Director of the School of Nursing.
