Independent, sponsored, empirical research and seminar. Students are expected to attend the regularly scheduled seminar. An APA-style research report or its equivalent (to be filed in the department) is a requirement of this course. To graduate with departmental honors, the student must receive a grade of A in PSYC 396. Honors in Psychology is typically a one-semester course; however, when a PSYC 396 research project extends beyond a single semester, the student may (with permission) register for a second semester as PSYC 398. If taken, the student must receive a grade of A in both PSYC 396 and 398 to graduate with departmental honors. prereqs: PSYC 249 or 250; 3.5 major GPA; 3.00 cumulative GPA; perm instr. 3 hrs, 3 cr.
