Teaching social studies through literature, the arts, and technology in grades 1-6. Literature selections will include original documents, essays, historical fiction, novels, diaries, journals, poetry, drama and folktales. Instructional strategies will include interdisciplinary curriculum and differentiated learning, teaching, and assessment strategies for English language learners and students with disabilities. Diverse activities will include utilizing the community, particularly museums, as a laboratory for student learning. prereqs: QSTA 401, QSTB 202, QSTF 300 coreqs: QSTA 410, QSTF 301 2 hrs, 2 cr.
