This course focuses on promotion, maintenance and restoration of health of the child and family. The student is afforded the opportunity to explore concepts and theories related to child health and to apply nursing process in selected settings. Emphasis is placed on the roles of the professional nurse in facilitating and empowering the family to manage the health of the child. This course includes a service learning component. Prerequisites: NR 3323, NR 3333, NR 3343, NR 3332, NR 3433, NR 3435, NR 3445; concurrently NR 4336. Theory 2 hours; Clinical 6 hours.
