This course is designed for students with little or no computer experience. The course will prepare the student to utilize computer hardware and software effectively and efficiently. The student is given the opportunity to learn to use electronic mail, explore the web, perform basic file management procedures (copy, rename, create subdirectories, etc.), and edit, format, and print simple documents. The student will also have an opportunity to learn basic information of computer systems to include the functions of various hardware components, the importance of software programs, how information is processed, and the social and ethical implications of the computer generation. Suggested pre- or co-requisite: OBT 105.
