Prereq. Quantitative Literacy Level 1 or ALG 051 and MT 050 - This course focuses on strengthening the quantitative skills the student needs to be an effective teacher of mathematics as a communication tool. She uses data describing current issues in society to practice interpreting, evaluating, and presenting information. The course covers three major content areas - representing data, predicting data, and measurement - the latter with an emphasis on geometric concepts. In addition to developing a better understanding of mathematical content, the student practices and develops strategies for taking objective tests specific to the education field.
