This workshop explores the life and works of one of the foremost Existential philosophers and author of one of the most important feminist works of our time, The Second Sex. Students gain insight into the relationship between Beauvoir's values and her works of fiction and philosophy. The course juxtaposes the story of a life, the expression of that life through works of literature, and the philosophy that propelled the life and works of this remarkable and courageous woman.
