This course offers a frame of reference from which to evaluate the various claims being made about developments in communication technology. This course helps students build a perspective on communication and technology by introducing both the analytical and technological skills needed to navigate through an information saturated society. Students will learn to understand the impacts of information technologies on message delivery. Students will become conversant with scholarship addressing the significance of information technology to organizational communication. Students will learn how to use the Internet effectively as a resource for research and information purposes. Students also will learn how to design webpages and create persuasive Web-based documents. Prerequisite: Acceptance into the Corporate Communications Accelerated Degree Completion Program (4 credit hrs)
