The course introduces students to specialized areas of taxation, emphasizing business income tax procedures for partnerships, corporations and S corporations, as well as the estate tax, gift tax and income taxation of estates. Sources and applications of federal tax law are also covered. Students will be expected to prepare basic business tax forms and research tax issues using appropriate research materials.
