A sequential introduction to basic spoken and written German and German culture. Upon completion, the student will be able to communicate at an elementary level in spoken and written German and will demonstrate an introductory knowledge of the German culture. German 101 and 102 do not count toward the major or minor. Prerequisite: For GER 102, either GER 101 or one year of high school German.
