3 hours Prerequisite: ENGS 361, 362, or 363 Introduction to the basic issues of information system security and the engineering principles used to secure software systems. Topics include the planning, management, policies, procedures, and personnel needed to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems. Also covered are specific threats, such as malicious code and network attacks, and commonly used countermeasures, such as access control, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
