4 hours (Three hours lecture; three hours lab) Prerequisites: CHEM 301; BIOL 200, 207 or 208; 301 and 415 and MATH 126 or 132 Advanced topics in biochemistry. Emphasis is placed on: 1) physical biochemistry including thermodynamics, kinetics, solutions and equilibria; 2) protein structure/function and enzyme kinetics, mechanisms and regulation; and 3) intermediary metabolism and its regulation. Lab fee.
