(3 hours.). Prerequisites: BIOL 110, and CHEM 103. The practical relationships between microorganisms and the environment. An introduction to the standard laboratory methods of the study of bacteria with emphasis on aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. Content will include symbiotic relationships, wastewater treatment, nutrient cycling and eutrophication, as well as disease and other topics. Lecture and laboratory. Same as ENVR 214.
