This course explores painting as a process, artifact and concept by integrating studio exploration and critique with examination of works by contemporary artists and related writings. Through a combination of studio work and seminar discussion, the focus is to understand, situate and critically relate one's painting practice within the content of contemporary artistic dialogue, work and practices.
