This is an introductory course emphasizing description, analysis, interpretation, and judgement of profound visual expression. Students will get up close and personal with the nature of art as well as the materials and techniques used to create art. As artists who believe there is significant value in increasing exposure to the fine arts; students will attend art exhibit openings, music concerts and theatre performances for credit. Discussion about music and theatre will be included in the course. Participation in additional art classes is encouraged. Lecture. (F/S)
