4 semester hours This course is designed to give the student a working understanding of the structure of the human cell and its many functions. As an introductory class, Human Biology is an excellent preparation for Anatomy, Physiology, Nutrition and Pathophysiology. Students will gain understanding of biological foundations of the human body. Topics include inorganic and organic chemical principles, cell organization, respiration, metabolism, mitosis, meiosis, genetics and heredity and the cell's role in overall body homeostasis. ?
