3 semester hours This course is designed to introduce the fundamentals of databases. The students will develop skills in the design, construction, modification and use of databases. Structured Query Language (SQL) will be emphasized, as will (to a lesser extent) Microsoft Access. Special attention will be paid to issues surrounding the use of database technology on the Web, including typical Web database uses, platform options and application server options and concepts.
