3 semester hours This course focuses on the local, state and federal laws that impact business operations of health care delivery. Special emphasis will be given to those laws that directly affect the development of health care businesses and the laws which affect health care delivery such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Organ Donation Legislation, Informed Consent Legislation and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
