3 hours. All genres of literature for children and adolescents are surveyed through synopses and reading of books by outstanding authors to acquaint the student with high quality stories and poems for use with children and adolescents. Multicultural literature is emphasized and methods of using literature in the classroom as well as techniques of storytelling are also studied. Extensive reading and active participation in class discussion are essential for this course. This course includes a minimal amount of clinical experiences. Prerequisite: ED103 (Taken with ED327).
