In this course, students approach the question of how people learn from a philosophical perspective. Class members read primary works of selected educational theorists including Plato, Isocrates, Rousseau, Wollstonecraft, Dewey, and Martin. Students develop a familiarity with the major educational issues of the past and engage current issues and problems in education.(4 credits)
