3 hours. A mix of classical and contemporary travel literature highlights the course readings. Students will read of the deliberate and accidental travels of such figures as sailors, slaves, explorers, and wanderers-literary figures who encounter the meeting of old and new cultures, of familiar and unfamiliar worlds. Prerequisite: EN120 or EN110/111.
