This course is a study of matter, measurement, modern atomic theory, stoichiometry, chemical reactions, gas laws, atomic structure, quantum theory, electron configurations and chemical bonding, the periodic table, and molecular geometry of molecules. It is required for Biology Majors. Three (3) hours of lecture and one (1) three (3) hour laboratory per week. Prerequisites: High school chemistry at the level of CHEM 103 and DEVS 098 or its equivalent.
