Students will study social problems such as poverty, child abuse, crime, homelessness, disease, disability, oppression, and affordable health care in the United States. Institutional responses to these problems will be examined with a focus on the pursuit of social and economic justice for populations-at-risk. Students will be encouraged to explore the concept of "civic responsibility" and what they can do to promote social change and justice in their day-to-day lives. Core II. FA, SP.
