A survey of the origins of political theory from the Ancient-Medieval period of political philosophy to contemporary political ideologies. Specific political philosophers are examined including Plato, Aristotle, Machiavelli, Locke, and Rousseau; as well as the political ideologies of Liberalism, Conservatism, Marxism and Fascism. Meets the Communication Intensive Requirement in the major. Prerequisite: 3 hours of PS coursework. SP, alternate years.
