The purpose of this course is to review and reinforce elementary algebra skills that are necessary for the successful completion of Finite Math. The topics covered may include properties of real numbers, order of operations, algebraic expressions, one and two step algebraic equations, applications and problem solving, translating word problems into algebraic equations, solving inequalities, interpreting graphs, Cartesian coordinate system, graphs of linear equations, graphs of inequalities, solving systems of equations of substitution, graphing, and linear combinations, solving systems of inequalities, union and intersections of sets, and an introduction to probability. Does not satisfy Core requirements, serve as a prerequisite for other math courses or count toward degree programs. Offered on a credit / no credit basis.
