Community building is the focus for first year students in this course. Students work collaboratively with a community partner to learn about and respond to a community need. Students in the course also examine topics to help them be successful in college, such as cultural diversity, interpersonal relationships, time management, health and wellness, and others of the students' choosing. Topics are explored through course discussions, inventories, workshops, journal writing, and other activities. Students are required to complete at least 15 hours outside class with the community partner. FA.
