The fundamental principles of chemistry will be studied, along with their application to current topics in chemistry (such as, for example, consumer chemistry, the environment, food, drugs). The importance of chemistry in an individual's personal and professional life will be highlighted. The student will develop an appreciation for how chemists approach and solve problems.
