1 ( HORT, NRES 435/835) (3 cr II) Lec 3. Prereq: For AGRO/HORT/NRES 435: Senior standing or permission. For AGRO/HORT/NRES 835: 12 hrs biological or agricultural sciences or permission. Team projects for developing communication skills and leadership skills. Integration of principles of ecology, plant and animal sciences, crop protection, and rural landscape planning and management for sustainable agriculture. Includes natural and cultivated ecosystems, population and community ecology, nutrient cycling, pest management, hydrologic cycles, cropping and grazing systems, landscape ecology, biodiversity, and socioeconomic evaluation of systems.
