Lecture, three hours. Examines different approaches to the analysis of public policy with differing notions of what constitutes good policy, the role of government, and how citizens participate in policy-making. Suggests a policy-design perspective which builds upon other frameworks but concentrates on goals, implementation structures, tools, and rationales. Prerequisites: Planning, Policy, and Design 4 or Environmental Analysis and Design E8, and Planning, Policy, and Design 166. Same as Political Science 121E.
