Introduction to complex functions and their applications to engineering and science. 114A: Complex numbers, elementary functions; analytic functions; complex integration; power series; residue theory; conformal maps; applications. 114B: Applications to potential theory, flows; heat; Laplace transforms; asymptotic expansions. Prerequisites: for 114A: Mathematics 2D, 2J. Mathematics 2E and 3D recommended. For 114B: Mathematics 114A. Mathematics 114A may not be taken for credit after Mathematics 147. Mathematics 147 and 114B may not both be taken for credit. Mathematics 114B not offered every year.
