Establishment of Qing Chinese, late Choson Korean, and Tokugawa Japanese sociopolitical orders and their characteristics, plus major cultural developments. Responses to Western impact and the rise of Meiji Japan. ( VIII) 170F East Asia Since 1895 (4). Introduction to the turbulent modern histories of China, Korea, and Japan since 1895. An overarching concern is to understand the evolution of modern East Asia and its place for humankind's future. ( VIII) 170G Topics in the History of Asia (4).
