Lecture and seminar, three hours. Examination of sensory cortex functions, focusing on auditory cortex. Its cellular mechanisms are examined and compared to those of other sensory modalities and subcortical regions. Physiological approaches are emphasized, but anatomical, molecular, and behavioral approaches are also considered. Prerequisite: Neurobiology and Behavior graduate student or consent of instructor.
