Principles of statistical mechanics and chemical thermodynamics; energy, entropy, free energy, and equilibrium for biological reactions. Principles of kinetics for biochemical reactions. Prerequisites: Biological Sciences 99, Chemistry 1C, Mathematics 2B, and Physics 3B. Same as Biological Sciences M171.
