3 credits (3+0) A teacher's introduction to the study of children's and young adult literature. Basic genres of children's and young adult books, the history and philosophy behind the use of literature, and activities with students in response to literature. Course is delivered through a combination of weekly audio conference, video, readings, and individual and group activities. Addresses Alaska Teacher Standard four with respect to content knowledge of literature.
