This is a prerequisite course to be taken by students who have not had one year of high school physics or equivalent, with a grade of B or better. Topics covered include units, technicalmath, vectors, forces and Newton's Laws, one-dimensionalmotion, work, energy andmomentum. Laboratory experiments compliment the lecturematerial and provide additional work in basic experimental techniques such as uncertainty, graphical analysis, and report writing skills. Additional topicsmay include rotationalmotion, torques, reflection, refraction or optical devices. This is a prerequisite course, and does notmeet the graduation requirement for any programatMSOE.
