The objective of this course is to focus on topics that are important and interesting to every business or person involved withmanaging technology. The goal is to provide students with an understanding of fundamental legal issues pertinent to technologymanagement. The course focuses on a wide range of controversial issues regarding intellectual property rights (i.e. patents, copyrights, trademarks and trade secrets) and addresses strategic decisionmaking such as how to protect computer and internet projects. A seminar approach will be followed with strong student participation. (prereq: junior standing and consent of department chair)
